What We Believe
New life in Christ...
Our Mission…
Our Vision…
What we believe
We believe in one holy, all-powerful and gracious Creator God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, the ultimate authority for all matters of faith and practice.
We believe that Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, is both Lord and Savior.
We believe that Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for human sin, that he was raised bodily on the third day, and that he ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father.
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead and reign over all things.
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who brings sinners to repentance, who gives eternal life to believers and who lives in them to conform them to the image of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christians should gather in regular fellowship and live holy lives that make evident the good news that humans can enter the kingdom of God by putting their trust in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation comes not by works, but only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the saved to the resurrection of life and the lost to the resurrection of judgment.
We share these beliefs with Christians in many other denominations. The Worldwide Church of God is a member of the National Association of Evangelicals.
New life in Christ
God created us for a wonderful purpose: that we might live forever with him in joy and love. We praise him for his perfect holiness, love, and justice.
But the problem is that humans do not know how to live in perfect love and justice - and we don't even live up to what we do know. Humans ever since the beginning have disobeyed God and rejected his guidance and friendship. Even if we wanted to live with him, we are unable to bridge the gap that is between us. We are not perfect and we are not holy. We do not deserve to live with God forever. When we rebel against the Author of life, the penalty is death.
But God's plan cannot be thwarted. His love means that he wants to rescue us from the death penalty we deserve. His justice requires that the death penalty must be paid. The good news is that Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for us. It is his gift to us. We can be saved, if we accept him as our Savior and Lord.
What must we do to be saved? We accept the fact that we need to be rescued. We admit that we have done wrong and that we do not deserve to live forever with God. We accept that Jesus paid the penalty for us.
If anyone believes in Christ, the Bible tells us, he or she is a new creation - a new child of God. The Holy Spirit gives us new life. It's not just us trying to live a good life on our own strength - it is God living in us. We do not live for ourselves, but for Christ.
Our Mission ( To Bless)
To Glorify God by Bringing Jesus to ALL people through Love, Equipping them for their ministry in the Body of Christ and the world, Sending them forth as lights and salt of the earth, Shearing the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.
Our Vision
Our VISION is to Reach Out cross-culturally in the Newark, NJ area and PLANT Churches that will become Spiritual Hospitals, and provide Emergency Housing and Educational Assistance to the Least of These my Brothers and Sisters.
UPWARD:
"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God…" is a scripture that we strongly emphasize in our mission in life. This is accomplished by desiring to love God with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37) and to worship him in spirit and truth (John 4:24). We acknowledge the presence of God in worship, and we respond with praise, thanksgiving and obedience.
INWARD:
We minister to all those called into fellowship with us, encouraging believers to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior and to discover and develop their spiritual gifts for use in fulfilling the great commission. Jesus revealed the sign of true Christians in John 13:35 - By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
OUTWARD:
The great commission given by Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20) is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… and teaching them… Led by the Holy Spirit.
